With support for up to four six-core Intel® Xeon processors with a 16 MB cache, up to 256 GB of PC2-5300 memory, and 7 PCI-Express expansion slots, the IBM 8864 delivers high powered performance that it configurable for any environment. The System x3850 also provides high availability via hot plug power supplies, fans, memory, hard disks, PCI-Express adaptors, and optional RAID-5. The IBM x3850 also offers the ability to scale up to 16 sockets via the ScaleXpander Option kit.
