VMware recently announced the addition of a 6th bundle to their arsenal - the Standard Acceleration Kit. This new offering is designed to bridge the VMware "Essentials" bundle and the Advanced Acceleration Kit (as shown in the image below.) The Standard Acceleration kit comes with:
- 8 CPU licenses of VMware vSphere Standard
- 1 license of VMware vCenter Standard
- Free Training (valued at $1,000)*
- Retail price for the Standard Acceleration Kit is $10,000
A few key things to note about this bundle:
- It comes with 8 CPU licenses. The other Accleration Kit bundles only come with 6 CPU licenses. With 8 CPU licenses, you can have 8 x 1CPU hosts, 4 x 2 CPU hosts, or 2 x 4CPU hosts.
- It comes with vCenter Standard. If you look at the VMware Essentials offerings from VMware, you'll notice they come with vCenter Foundation. The Foundation edition of vCenter is limited to 3 hosts. vCenter Standard does not have any license limit.
- *Free Training. The training is not a VMware feature, but an offering that we are providing. When you purchase any of the VMware Acceleration Kits (Essentials Kits don't qualify) listed in the chart below, you will receive a free foucher for a 4 hour instructor-led vSphere Overview class, valued at $1,000.
