Canvas Rentals Keeps the Business Running During a Move
With the help of Canvas Systems, a large VAR/Service Provider, and one of the largest Cisco reseller’s in the world won one of their largest Data Center Move deals to date. The reseller's end user client was moving one of their data centers from Delaware to Green Bay, WI. They needed to create a mirrored environment in Green Bay to migrate the data over and keep operations up and running as the equipment in Delaware was shut down and shipped to Green Bay over the span of 5 months.
With over $100 million in inventory, Canvas Systems was able replicate the client's data center, which included a mix of HP, IBM Tape Storage, and IBM (pSeries) servers. Canvas custom configured and shipped the Rental systems to Green Bay, which enabled the VAR/Service provider to successfully migrate the information over to the Rental systems, shut down and move the equipment from Delaware to Green Bay, and then migrate the information back to the original systems now sitting in Green Bay.
This use of Rental swing gear created a successful move without any downtime or business interruption for the VAR’s end user client. Canvas also provided 7x24x4 maintenance coverage of this environment for five months until the move was completed and the rental equipment arrived back at our warehouses.
